Some howler monkeys were recorded recently in Manu, have a listen here:
All the pictures in the background are taken in the area and as you can see they spend a lot of time up in the canopy, that’s because their like to eat leaves, fruits and nuts. They also have an astounding sense of smell and are able to smell their food sources from up to 2km away.
You can also hear plenty of other animal and insect sounds in the background. Everything in the rainforest makes a noise, the howler monkeys are just the best at it. In fact howler monkeys are the loudest land animal on earth. Their calls can be heard up to three miles away and are thought to proclaim territories.
